Samsung Galaxy S23 Series : Unmatched speed

On February 1st, Samsung held its latest Galaxy Unpacked in San Francisco. It’s the event of the year for product lovers of the Korean giant, which unveiled among others its latest line of phones, the Galaxy S23 Ultra, S23+ and S23.

Here is a brief overview of what the new Samsung Galaxy S23 has in store for you!

Fastest Galaxy series to date

The flagship of Samsung is now the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

In terms of chipset, the S23 Ultra has an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor “for Galaxy”, made expressly for Samsung’s new lineup.

This is Qualcomm’s fastest chip, designed in partnership with Samsung to create the fastest device available.

An announcement so important that the president of Qualcomm himself was on the stage during its unveiling. According to him, the chip is optimized for faster gaming performance and supports ray tracing (a process that deals with shadows, brightness and reflections in real time in 3D environments).

In terms of artificial intelligence, the new chip enables what Qualcomm calls semantic segmentation. Imagine your phone being able to detect whether a subject is wearing glasses and automatically remove the reflections they might cause in the final image!

For those who want to opt for an S23+ or an S23, don’t worry. It is the same chip, with the same capabilities. All phones have 8 GB of RAM.

An EVEN MORE advanced camera system

The Galaxy S23 Ultra has a 200 megapixel wide-angle camera. Compared to the 108 Mp camera of the S22 Ultra, this is a huge leap in terms of clarity! Even a x3 zoom allows you to keep a clear image as the pixel density is so high.

You end up with a professional quality camera system that is made to handle your photos masterfully when taken in low light.

You can take advantage of the Nightography function without losing detail, both for your photos and your videos.

In addition to their 50Mp wide-angle camera, the S23+ and S23 compare well with their big brother with the same resolution for the ultra-wide-angle, self-portrait and telephoto lenses (12Mp, 12Mp and 10Mp, respectively).

Elements to keep in mind!

In an ecological turn, in order to reduce their carbon footprint, several elements of the three phones are made entirely of recycled materials, including the shell and its various layers, the glass (Gorilla Glass Victus 2) and even parts of the S Pen (exclusive to the S23 Ultra).

In terms of image resolution and device size, Samsung isn’t reinventing the wheel and is keeping the same formats as its previous series: a 6.8-inch 1440p AMOLED display for the Ultra, 6.6-inch 1080p for the S23+ and 6.1-inch 1080p for the S23. All the devices have a 120Hz image refresh rate and are water-resistant (IP68)

The difference, however, is in the brightness, which can reach a maximum of 1750 nits and 1200 nits in HDR. Yes, these phones are brilliant!

The S23 Ultra has a 5000 mAh battery, larger than the 4700 mAh for the S23+ and 3900 mAh for the S23. That gives you between 22 and 27 hours of video playback.
